Forks Ambulance serves the City of Forks, La Push Reservation, Beaver, and Hoh Reservation and provides ambulance and rescue coverage for West Clallam County into West Jefferson County. Additionally, we respond to the Olympic Corrections Center and all access points to the rivers, trails, back roads, and everything in between these areas. Our total response area, including providing mutual aid, is estimated to cover over 900 square miles, or about 1.4% of the State of Washington.
All Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at Forks Ambulance are state-licensed and certified through a rigorous training program and held to the same standards of education and training as required by state law. Forks Ambulance has a combination of both full-time and per diem EMTs.
Our EMT program has been serving the community for over 60 years. Initially operating under “Ray Ellis Volunteer Ambulance Corp,” current operations are under Clallam County Hospital District #1 (Forks Community Hospital) oversight. West Olympic Peninsula EMS Council provides the initial EMT training and ongoing education via funding from the Northwest Region EMS Council, with additional funding donated by Ray Ellis Volunteer Ambulance Corps and West Jefferson County.
