During the summer of 2024, the only mammography unit at FCH was damaged in a power surge and is unrepairable. With the nearest imaging department over 50 miles away, access to essential health care became challenging for our community members.
In response, FCH leaders arranged for a rental mammography unit, which arrived on September 27, 2024. Our priority is to provide residents with access to high-quality health care, including life-saving mammograms. However, while renting the unit was a short-term solution, the goal is for the hospital to purchase its own, beyond FCH’s financial reach.
To address this, the Forks Hospital Foundation launched “Operation Mammogram,” aiming to raise $250,000 to acquire this vital technology.
We invite residents and visitors to consider contributing to this critically important fundraising campaign. Your donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful impact.
