About

Forks Ambulance serves the City of Forks, La Push Reservation, Beaver, and Hoh Reservation and provides ambulance and rescue coverage for West Clallam County into West Jefferson County. Additionally, we respond to the Olympic Corrections Center and all access points to the rivers, trails, back roads, and everything in between these areas. Our total response area, including providing mutual aid, is estimated to cover over 900 square miles, or about 1.4% of the State of Washington.

All Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at Forks Ambulance are state-licensed and certified through a rigorous training program and held to the same standards of education and training as required by state law. Forks Ambulance has a combination of both full-time and per diem EMTs.

Our EMT program has been serving the community for over 60 years. Initially operating under “Ray Ellis Volunteer Ambulance Corp,” current operations are under Clallam County Hospital District #1 (Forks Community Hospital) oversight. West Olympic Peninsula EMS Council provides the initial EMT training and ongoing education via funding from the Northwest Region EMS Council, with additional funding donated by Ray Ellis Volunteer Ambulance Corps and West Jefferson County.

What to Expect When You Call 911

Our dispatch team routes the closest available ambulance to your location, ensuring the fastest possible response time.
Highly trained EMTs assess your condition, stabilize injuries, and provide immediate medical care.
Depending on the severity, you may be transported to the nearest hospital or receive treatment on-site. For critical cases, Airlift Northwest may be activated for rapid hospital transport.
Our team works closely with first responders and hospitals to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcome.

Emergency Department

From the moment you enter our Emergency Department, our dedicated staff of physicians, experienced registered nurses and medical professionals make it their mission to provide compassionate care to every patient, every time.

We are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our physicians and nurses are specially trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course.
